Unchanging Love

I always wonder - does anyone read my stuff?  This morning I was stumbling through some old stuff and realized - no matter if they do or don't - this is an awesome way for me to remember some of the thoughts that are going through this mind at a certain time in my life!

Getting back to the basics, I have a love for music!  The song that I recently shared with a good friend is, "My God" by Jeremy Camp.  It is such a good reminder that the weight of this world does not have to be carried on our shoulders alone.  We have an incredible God who helps us to bear the load - what an incredible reminder!

"When my hope starts fading out
You are where my strength is found
I know I won't be alone

My God, You are the unchanging love
My God, Your heart sends hope from above
The great Creator, beautiful Savior
I've been redeemed
There is life now from Your victory
You are my God"

In recent months, I have been reminded that I've got some awesome friends.  Friends who hang out with when I'm slightly bored, friends who have common interests with me that want to go to concerts or sporting events, friends who I get to serve along side of at church - but the ones I appreciate the most are the ones I can text or call when I just need a quick prayer. Or even better, that I can send up a prayer for someone else when they need it.  Currently we are talking about Hebrews at church and how we don't need a mediator.  Got sent his Son to be the bridge between us and Himself.  Like the song says, You are where my strength is found - I know I won't be alone!  Remember, sometimes when your friends aren't strong enough to pray for themselves ... help them out.  Go to God and pray on their behalf.  I can promise you, you'll need that same strength someday!

Made to raise my voice lift my hands up and rejoice

What a summer!

I remember when I was in school, summer was defined between the end of a semester and the start of a new one. But life after school, I've realized I have the ability to start the summer and end it whenever I please!

Therefore, I've decided I'm going to saver it just a little longer.

Cattle Shows, Golf Tournaments, Conferences, County Fairs, Sunburns, Weddings, Family Time,
and the Missouri State Fair was my life for the past 14 weeks!!

Whether its meeting people who are part of my industry at events, seeing kids show off some of their most prized possessions at the fair, or simply laying by the pool with friends and family ... my summer ROCKED!

At the end of it all, I have to sit back and realize that I've been blessed! An artist that is on constant repeat on my iPod is Sara Evans. Maybe it's because she's a Missouri girl or maybe cause after each song I think, she wrote that for me. But one of her songs that I enjoy most is, Low, off the Billy Graham Movie soundtrack! Take a listen here...

What do I love most...

I'm gonna roll this stone away
Live my life my way & stand up on my faith
Just like the sun rises every day
The tide is gonna change
You can't keep me low

No matter what post-summer plans I have in store for me ... It's going to rock as well! Let the journey continue!

Where Have I Been

Hello World! I started it and then left it. But after a charge by my cousin, I realized I had neglected this blog. So much has been going on, but I wanted to write just to put my feelings of hurt and help towards the people of Joplin, MO after the horrific tornado's that have ripped through our state.

I have many connections to Joplin and the surrounding area and my heart is hurting for those individuals who are suffering so greatly. I never could understand what they are going through but I do know one thing we have in common, God will never leave us no matter what situation we're going through.

I'm reminded of a song that we just sang Sunday at our church called, God Of This City. I love the song for what it means to me and my 9th Street family going thru so many incredible things in Eldon .... but on a whole new level I love it for I know, "Greater things have yet to come and greater things are still to be done in this city!"

Joplin is in the Heartland of the Bible belt of America! There are wonderful people there, incredible Christian organizations, Ozark Christian College is there to teach and train Christians to be a light on the mission field .... And I believe that God is going to turn a tragedy into an opportunity for people to be led to Him. It warms my heart to hear people respond to the question, How are you still alive? With the answer, "Only by God saving me!"

Couldn't we all answer that way? I know I sure can!

Please continue to pray for the hurting people of Joplin as they rebuild their homes, community, and lives!

Hosanna

Sometimes songs just impact you. Not sure if its that you're just paying more attention to the words at that specific moment or I like to think that God is just clearing your mind so you hear His words. Hillsong sings an incredible song, "Hosanna", that I will literally repeat 5 or 6 times before I'll go to the next song!  Here is just a snidbit of the verse:

"Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like you have loved me

Break my heart from what breaks yours
Everything I am for your
kingdoms cause
As I go from nothing to Eternity"

For myself, these words hit me while I'm serving.  Whether it be the rich or poor, elderly or children, on American or International soil ... the message is always the same, God Is Love!  These pictures are a few from a Missions trip to Pascagoula, Mississippi, 2006, just after Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf of Mexico.  You have to believe that God's heart was breaking for these people and that my eyes were open to things I had never seen.

Who I Am

I feel I'm in this place in life with no clear direction of where I'm headed, but I do know I'm going somewhere. I graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Agriculture and have a huge passion in my life for anything Ag. Since graduation I've been working as Director of the Missouri's Cattlemen Foundation.

I have the most wonderful family anyone could ever ask for it. I have 3 older siblings, which are the best cause they have given me the opportunity to be an aunt to 8 little ones; 5 nieces and 3 nephews! Talk about a ride .. every holiday is a new adventure! Oh and did I mention they all live on our family farm, within 2 miles of each other!
I've done some absolutely incredible things in my life. I've had the experience of traveling to Haiti and Ecuador on missions trips .. talk about life changing trips! Seen poverty ... seen children ... seen God work in only ways he could work!

I titled my blog, Feels Just Like a Love Song because it really puts into perspective who I am! This crazy world we live in can be hard at times, can be confusing, can be just downright exhausting. But if we just realize that the Love of God will take care of us, no matter where in this world we are or how we are feeling, Life will work out just fine!
